Laptop Requirements
Technology reaches into almost all facets of student life here at the School of Law. Access to the Internet
is almost ubiquitous. You will be able to:
- connect in the dorm rooms via Resnet, or from almost anywhere in the School of Law
using the wireless or wired access laptop networks
- correspond and collaborate with fellow students and professors online
- take in-class exams and take-home exams on your laptop
- apply for Journals and/or Clinics online
In order to meet the technology requirements here at the School of Law, we have provided a list of hardware and software requirements. They are also listed in Section I of the ITS Student Handbook.
Connectivity
NYU offers several connectivity options. The most popular at the Law School is the wireless network. It is used in classrooms, the library and in common areas throughout the school. Also widely used is ResNet, our residential wired access in school housing. These types of connectivity provide our students with full-time, secure, stable, high-speed internet access. Links below will help you learn how to configure each of them and troubleshoot most problems.
Exams
ITS supports the technical aspects of in-class and take-home exam software. We offer full support for exam software, including installation, training, and troubleshooting. All non-technical issues relating to exams should be directed to Academic Services.
We will be offering exam-related training sessions during the semester. Look for announcements at the top of the Laptops Home Page regarding upcoming sessions.
