ResNet Requirements
What you need to use ResNet:
- A computer running either Windows 95/98/2000 or Macintosh OS 8.0 or higher with Open Transport 1.1.1 or higher.
- An installed 10-Base-T Ethernet card or adapter, (with RJ45 connectors at each end), with its drivers installed.
- A 10-Base-T Ethernet cable (also called a Cat5 cable, again with RJ45 connectors) which is long enough to reach from your computer to the wall data jack. We recommend 14 - 20 feet long.
- A Web browser because NYUHome requires a higher browser version, we strongly recommend Netscape 4.75 or Explorer 5.0 or higher.
- Your NetID, as printed on your NYU ID Card.
- Your NYU PIN, as used with TorchTone (995-4747).
- You must be in the suite that is currently assigned to you in the student housing database. This is the assignment, which was mailed to you directly from Housing. If you move into a different suite when you check in, you will not be to able to register for ResNet until the housing database is updated to show your new suite assignment.
