Running a Symposium
Every year, student groups at the law school hold symposia on legal
issues of interest to students, faculty and the legal and public
interest communities. These symposia generally consist of a series
of panels featuring expert faculty, practitioners or students discussing
various subtopics. In recent years, symposium topics have included
the death penalty, copyright in a digital age, and sex workers and
trafficking. Upcoming symposia in Spring 2002 address:
The law school's Symposium Funding Committee allocates funds for
existing student groups planning symposia of interest to students.
Applications for
fall semester symposia are due in the spring and spring semester
symposia are due in the fall. A copy of the application may be downloaded
using the link at the left. Please note that charges on the application
are subject to change, so please contact the Symposium Funding Committee
to make sure that no changes to the application have been made.
