Welcome
Law Students Against the Death Penalty (LSDAP) was formed in response
to the passage of New York State's death penalty law in September
1995. Our goal is to fight the death penalty both in New York and
around the country. Members perform legal research and review trial
transcripts for organizations such as the Louisiana Crisis Assistance
Center, the Georgia Resource Center, and the NAACP Legal Defense
Fund.
LSDAP showed several documentaries, including "The Farm: Angola,
USA," and sponsored a symposium on the future of the death
penalty movement. Speakers included the Innocence Project's Peter
Neufeld and Donald Paradis, a former death row inmate. Next year,
LSDAP hopes to work closely with local moratorium proponents.
