Welcome!
Welcome to the website for the NYU Environmental Law Society (ELS)!
The ELS is the student-run organization for future environmental lawyers and all law students
interested in environmental issues. Along with the Environmental Law Journal, ELS is the heart
of NYU Law's thriving environmental community: we plan lots of great events and we have a lot
of fun together.
ELS-sponsored programs include our brown-bag lunch series, featuring
prominent environmental lawyers and scholars; legal projects in which we partner with
local or national environmental organizations to provide research assistance; hiking and
camping trips in the Hudson River Valley area; social events, and community service events.
We are also actively involved in campus climate change initiatives and in the larger New York
environmental community. To see the full
range of our activities, click on the Events
link.
For more information about ELS or the NYU environmental
law program, look for an ELS representative at Admitted Students
Day, or sign up for the Greenlist. Prospective students with questions
can request to be contacted by emailing Nathan at nathan.foster@nyu.edu
or Katie at katie.ghilain@nyu.edu.
Thanks for visiting, and we'll hope to see you soon!
