The Women of Color Collective honored Associate Professor of Clinical Law Alina Das at the 10th Annual WoCC Alumnae Reception. Professor Das received the 2017 Woman of Distinction award, in honor of her commitment to immigrant rights work, and her contributions to the creation of the NYU Immigrant Defense Initiative. The Women of Color Collective Board (2013-2014) honors Linda Gadsby '92 with the 2014 Women of Distinction Award. Linda Gadsby ’92 is vice president and deputy general counsel of Scholastic. At a celebratory banquet, which was themed “Building Bridges: Creating Opportunities,” students and alumnae gathered to honor Gadsby, who also sits on the board of the Law Alumni Association and serves as an advisory board member of the Black, Latino, Asian Pacific American Law Alumni Association.
The Women of Color Collective enjoys a brunch sponsored by Kirkland & Ellis where they learned more about the firm, connected with fellow women of color, and received candid answers about on campus interviews, firms, and potential practice areas.
