Thursday, February 3rd, 2005, 6:00 p.m., Vanderbilt Hall, Room 204. Marc Mauer, Assistant Director of The Sentencing Project, will give a talk on "Current Prospects for Sentencing and Drug Policy Reform." Jointly sponsored with BALSA.  Pizza will be served.

Wednesday, February 9th, 2005, 6:00 p.m., Vanderbilt Hall, Room 216. Deborah Peterson Small of Breaking the Chains will discuss "Drug Policy Reform in the Age of Bush -- Broadening the Agenda Without Losing Focus."  Jointly sponsored with BALSA.  Food will be served.

Monday, February 28th, 2005, 6:00 p.m., Vanderbilt Hall, Room 204. Cliff Thornton, founder of the drug policy advocacy group Efficacy, will speak on the topic: "After Prohibition: How to Help Neighborhoods Currently Dependent Upon the Drug Trade After We Repeal the Drug Laws."  Jointly sponsored with BALSA.  Pizza will be served.

Thursday, March 3rd, 2005, 12:15 p.m., Vanderbilt Hall, Room 204.  Randy Barnett, lead counsel for Angel Raich et al. in Raich v. Ashcroft, will discuss medical marijuana and federalism, and offer his perspective on Supreme Court advocacy generally.  Jointly sponsored with the Federalist Society.

Thursday, March 10th, 2005, 6:00 p.m., Vanderbilt Hall, Room 204. New York State Assemblymember Jeffrion Aubry (D-Queens), Assembly sponsor of Rockefeller Drug Law reform legislation, and New York County Assistant District Attorney Nigel Farinha, Senior Trial Counsel for the Narcotics Violent Gang Unit, will share their differing perspectives on the New York State drug laws. Should be a very interesting debate...
