Art Law Society

The NYU Law Art Law Society was launched at the beginning of Fall 2011, replacing the IPELS Arts Committee. Our mission is to provide a forum at NYU Law for cutting-edge art law topics through lectures, panel presentations, gallery visits and conversations with practitioners, academics, students and artists themselves.

Our events have featured the following: Amy M. Adler, Emily Kempin Professor of Law, NYU School of Law; Donn Zaretsky, art law attorney and widely-read art law blogger; Sergio Munoz Sarmiento, Associate Director of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts; Chuck Colman, fashion law attorney; Barbara Kolsun, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Stuart Weitzman, LLC; Ronald Feldman, owner of the Ronald Feldman Gallery; Michael Keegan, President of People for the American Way; X, a street artist; and many others.
