University Commencement

The schools and colleges of New York University join together in celebrating one Commencement ceremony each year.  This invitation is extended to all graduates and degree candidates for the 2014-2015 academic year.  The ceremony includes a presidential address, an undergraduate and a graduate student speaker, the awarding of honorary degrees to a number of distinguished individuals, and the conferring of degrees and certificates.  The program concludes with the ceremonial passing of the University torch.
Note:  Please be mindful that you will be seated outdoors, therefore you are reminded to dress for the elements.

*CALLING ALL GRADUATING CANDIDATES*
 SUBMIT YOUR STUDENT SPEAKER NOMINATIONS FOR THE ALL UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT

Deadline to submit nominations is March 9, 2015

Each school will nominate one of its students to serve as the studnet speaker at Yankee Stadium.

If interested, submit:
- Your resume (not to exceed two pages)
- A sample presentation statement that conveys your proposed speech and please answer the dollowing questions:
        • What achievements make you stand out amongst your peers?
        • How are you representative of the student body?
        • What qualities make you a strong speaker?

You must also submit a letter of support from a faculty advisor, faculty member, or administrator who knows you well.  This letter might also include answers to the questions:

      • How does the student stand out amongst his/her peers?
      • What academic achievements should we know about?
      • What leadership qualities, including community service, should be highlighted?
