Seminar Writing Credit Components
In seminars and colloquia that offer the one credit writing component option, students may earn this additional credit for writing a substantial paper (ordinarily at least 10,000 words in length). This satisfies the Substantial Writing requirement for J.D. students and may satisfy the writing requirement for LL.M. students, if applicable.
To earn the additional credit, you must register for the Writing Credit section of the course within the same semester the course is offered and by the following deadline within that semester: September 29 for fall and February 9 for spring.
If you are an LL.M. student and you wish to designate the paper as a thesis, you must also complete the LL.M. Thesis Certification form.
