About Us

The Information Law Institute (ILI) is an academic center for the study of law, policy, and social norms defining and affecting the flow of information in a digitally networked society.

Its mission is to encourage and disseminate thoughtful research and commentary, welcoming the participation of faculty, students, and other researchers across the disciplinary spectrum.

News and Announcements

The Information Law Institute will co-sponsor a Conference on Trade Secrets and Algorithmic Systems on November 16-17, 2018.  A cross-disciplinary group of scholars and experts will examine trade secrecy's implications for data-driven decision making.  This event is by invitation only.   More information.

Privacy Research Group (PRG) will start on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

The ILI is thrilled to welcome its 2018-19 Fellows: Sebastian Benthall, Ashley Gorham, Mason Marks, John Nay, Julia Powles, and Mark Verstraete.
