This week, the New York Law Journal honored several alumni and members of the NYU Law community in its Lawyers Who Lead by Example 2014 Awards. The journal highlighted three categories of distinction: lifetime, public service, and pro bono.
“The trait shared by all is commitment well beyond the billable hour,” wrote editor-in-chief Kris Fischer in a note. “They demonstrate a determination to uphold the Constitution and civil rights, to level the playing field, to improve the courts and the legal system, and to protect and win benefits for the vulnerable.”
