Eleanor Fallon joins NYU Law as director of Alumni Relations

Eleanor “Ellie” Fallon joined NYU School of Law in September as the director of Alumni Relations, returning to the Law School after seven years.

In her new role, Fallon directs the Law School’s alumni programming and works toward strengthening connections among alumni and between the Law School and alumni. Fallon, who is fluent in French and has worked abroad, oversees regional, national, and international alumni programs, which include a mix of academic and social events that take place throughout the year, with the largest programming happening around Reunion.

“I am fortunate to work in service of the Law Alumni Association and BLAPA leadership, and alongside amazing colleagues and a professional team that creates a friendly atmosphere to welcome our alumni back for every event,” Fallon said.

Fallon’s expertise in alumni relations is rich and varied. She first joined NYU Law’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations in 2004 as executive assistant to now Vice Dean for Development and Leadership Initiatives Jeannie Forrest. She was promoted to manager of stewardship in 2006, a role she held until 2008. Before her return to the Law School, she served as director of donor relations for NYU’s Polytechnic School of Engineering (now known as the NYU Tandon School of Engineering). There, she coordinated the successful integration of systems during the merger of the Polytechnic Institute and NYU to ensure a smooth transition for alumni and board members. She was also director of stewardship and donor relations at Columbia University’s Teachers College, where she planned high-level special events throughout the year.

Her previous experience at NYU Law drew her to return. “I am inspired by the dedication of Dean Trevor Morrison and the active engagement of our alumni and student populations,” Fallon said. “There is a close-knit family feeling to the Law School that I have not experienced at any other place.”

“Ellie’s warmth, quiet humor, and capacity to connect the institutional dots are all characteristics that I value in her new role of Alumni Relations director,” Forrest said. “I find it deeply reassuring to know that she is at the helm of this critical department within the school.”
