NYU Law and the American Law Institute

NYU Law faculty are extensively involved in the American Law Institute (ALI), the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and improve the law. More than 30 NYU Law professors have been elected as members, and many serve, or have recently served, as reporters on high-profile ALI projects. Richard Revesz, Lawrence King Professor of Law and dean emeritus, is ALI’s director, and Samuel Issacharoff, Bonnie and Richard Reiss Professor of Constitutional Law, serves on the organization’s governing body, the ALI Council.
