The credits worksheet on the page outlining requirements for the NYU degree includes all requirements necessary to complete both the NYU and the NUS LL.M. degrees. This page is for additional information only.
NUS requires a total of 40 NUS credits to complete the NUS LL.M. and will recognize up to 12 NUS credits for courses taken during the Summer and Winter Terms, and a total of 28 NUS credits for all courses taken towards the NUS degree. Please note that NUS does not allow students to exceed the number of credits required to graduate.
Students must therefore complete a minimum of 7 courses during NUS Semesters 1 and 2, 4 of which must be in addition to those required for the NYU degree.
These credits may be earned in one or a combination of the following ways:
1. Taking NUS faculty-taught courses during NUS Semester 1 and/or NUS Semester 2, including intensive courses and courses taught in Shanghai as part of the joint program between NUS and the East China University of Politics and Law;
2. Completing a thesis under the supervision of an NUS faculty member while in residence in Singapore;
3. In exceptional circumstances, a student may petition the Director of the NYU@NUS program to complete a thesis under the supervision of an NUS faculty member while not in residency in Singapore.
