All NYU@NUS students are required to have a laptop for take-home examinations and other purposes. This laptop must support wireless connectivity and must have a PDF reader. A recommended minimum configuration is listed below. Please know that this requirement may change in future academic years if/when the NYU@NUS programme requires the use of laptops for in-class exams.
A printer for personal use, though not required, is recommended for a variety of uses including printing class handouts and take-home exams. Although laser printers are available in the computer labs for printing course-related assignments, reports, research projects, and the like, you should not count on these community printers to print take-home exams which involve strict timelines. Thus, if you are not comfortable reading take-home exams on a computer screen, you should purchase a printer.
Non-NYU@NUS students are not required to have a laptop, but rather will need to have access to a computer with internet capabilities and the ability to read PDF files.
You may want to purchase your laptop under the NUS Notebook Ownership Scheme.
