Moran Yahav

Moran Yahav received her LL.B., magna cum laude, from Tel Aviv University in 2007. Moran served as a teaching assistant to Dr. Shay Wozner in “Introduction to Jewish Law” and as research assistant to Professor Asher Maoz in the field of education policy and the law, as well as to Dr. Yishai Blank in the field of local government law in the European Union. Moran was also an assistant editor of Theoretical Inquiries in Law Journal, published by the Cegla Center for Interdisciplinary Research of the Law at Tel Aviv University, served as the president of the Law School Student Senate, and in 2005 was chosen to study a semester abroad at the University of Michigan, where she focused on connections between law, literature and history. During her last year of law school, Moran interned with the litigation group of one of Israel's leading law firms, S. Horowitz & Co., focusing on civil litigation conducted for the firm’s foreign clients. Moran also volunteered with a human rights NGO as a civilian monitor of army activities in the West Bank. Upon graduation, she clerked for the Honorable Justice Esther Hayut of the Supreme Court of Israel. She was admitted to the Israeli bar in 2009.

At NYU Moran will study in the Legal Theory Program, focusing on legal philosophy.

Tobias Holzmueller
Tobias Holzmueller studied law and political science at the Universities of Glasgow, Constance, Montpellier and Heidelberg. In 2001 he graduated from the University of Heidelberg at the top of his class. During his mandatory practical training he clerked for the Munich district court and the German representation to the OSCE in Vienna. He passed the 2nd State Examination in 2004, placing him in the top 1%. Subsequently, he has worked for an international law firm and for the European Commission in the fields of intellectual property and competition law. Tobias is a research fellow at the Max-Planck-Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law in Munich where he is completing a Ph.D. on the international aspects of competition law. He is a Bucerius-Scholar of the German National Academic Foundation.

At NYU Tobias will focus his studies on international trade law and antitrust law and serves as a research assistant to Professor Eleanor Fox.

Julia Werzer
Julia Werzer received her Master's degree in law at the University of Vienna School of Law, Austria, in 2004. During her law studies, Julia was awarded several scholarships for outstanding academic achievement and studied for one year at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris in France. Julia's specialization in international law was complemented by her participation in the Philip Jessup International Law Moot Court in Washington, D.C. as well as by UN-related internships in Washington, D.C. and New York.  

After having clerked for several months at a Viennese district court, Julia joined the Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, where she worked in the UN Department.  

Julia was also awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study at NYU, where she is an LL.M. candidate in International Legal Studies.
