Graduate Affairs

From Professor James B. Jacobs,
Chair of the Graduate Division

Welcome to NYU School of Law and to its Graduate Division! Your admission reflects your outstanding academic and professional achievements and the intellectual ability to pursue graduate legal studies at one of the finest law schools in the U.S.

The Office of Graduate Affairs is specifically designed to serve the particular needs of our graduate students, as well as our foreign student populations in our exchange programs and our Diploma program. This office advises on all inquiries from LL.M., Diploma, and exchange students pertaining to current course schedules, completion of requirements, earning the degree or diploma, and requests for optional practical training. The Office of Graduate Affairs provides our graduate students with a one stop shop from application to graduation. Working in close collaboration with the Hauser Global Law School Program, our office also aims to support these constituencies programmatically throughout their Law School stay, and to make their experience intellectually stimulating and personally rewarding.

Please note that tax students who seek academic advice should consult The Tax Law Office in Furman Hall, 245 Sullivan Street, 4th Floor,
(212) 998-6150.  J.S.D. students should consult either their supervisor or the Director of the J.S.D. Program, Professor Joseph Weiler for academic counsel. For administrative services, they should contact the J.S.D. officer at JSD@exchange.law.nyu.edu.
