How to Apply to the M.S.L.
Prospective students are permitted to apply for only one degree or certificate program offered by the Law School during an annual application cycle (September to June); applicants may not apply concurrently to the M.S.L. and J.D. program, or the M.S.L. and any degrees or certificates offered by the Graduate Division.
All M.S.L. applicants must apply to the Law School for fall 2010 entry by January 4, 2010, using the Graduate Online Application (application fee $75) and must follow the directions in the M.S.L. Information and Application Instructions. We do not accept mailed applications.
We prefer that the application fee be paid online using an American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa credit card. However, if you are unable to pay your application fee online, you may mail your fee with the Payment Identification Form (accessible from the online application) using an international money order, or check drawn on a U.S. bank, payable to New York University in U.S. dollars. Do not send cash or traveler’s checks. Application fees are non-refundable and will not be credited toward your tuition if offered admission. NYU School of Law does not waive application fees to the Graduate Division.
When completing the online application, prospective students may apply to complete the degree on a full-time or part-time basis beginning in the fall semester only. Foreign citizens should note that NYU is able to sponsor a visa for entry into the United States for those admitted to and enrolling in a full-time program only.
We suggest you print a copy of your online application for your records and keep a file of all documents you submit with your application. We cannot return or give you copies of any part of your application, transcripts, translations, letters of recommendation, or supporting material.
Many required application materials are electronically submitted, as is the case with the personal statement, résumé and some letters of recommendation, or submitted through services offered by the Law School Admission Council for applicants who qualify. Please do not mail paper copies of materials submitted by other means to the Office of Graduate Admissions as such duplicate submission only slows down the process for all applicants.
