Current NYU School of Law Student Application Procedures
Applicants to the LL.M. Program
- All current NYU School of Law students must use the online application and follow the completing your application instructions.
- As a courtesy, the Office of Graduate Admissions will waive the application fee. Print the Payment Identification Form from the online application. Sign the Payment Identification Form, indicate on the form that you are a current student, and send the form to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
- A letter of recommendation is not required.
- If you are a current LL.M. student and are applying for a second LL.M. degree, you are required to submit an official transcript of your first degree in law; we are unable to obtain this from your previous LL.M. application file. However, we will order your NYU School of Law transcript internally. If you are a current J.D. student, we will order your NYU School of Law transcript internally.
- You do not need to submit a TOEFL score.
- Any additional documents such as scholarship essays must be attached electronically to your application.
- If you are a current LL.M. student, on the application where you are asked to list your social security number, please list your Admissions Identification Number that was provided to you in your letter of admission to the LL.M. program in which you are currently enrolled. If you cannot locate this number, kindly contact the Office of Graduate Admissions, and we will provide this number to you.
Applicants to the J.S.D. Program
- All current NYU School of Law LL.M. students applying to the J.S.D. program must use the online application and follow the completing your application instructions.
- As a courtesy, the Office of Graduate Admissions will waive the application fee. Print the Payment Identification Form from the online application. Sign the Payment Identification Form, indicate on the form that you are a current student, and send the form to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
- You are required to submit an official transcript of your first degree in law; we are unable to obtain this from your previous LL.M. application file. However, we will order your NYU School of Law transcript internally.
- You do not need to submit a TOEFL score.
