Connecting to Licensed Databases From Off-Campus

To connect to licensed databases, eJournals and eBooks (excluding passworded resources), you will need to authenticate yourself via the NYU Ezproxy Server.

  1. Make sure you have a netid and password.  If you do, proceed to step 2.
If you have not applied for a password, do so using the netID  printed on your NYU ID card.
    Apply for a password online
  2. When you attempt to connect to an NYU licensed  resource, you will be prompted for your NetID and password.
You must connect by following a link from a Law Library or Bobst Library webpage or online catalog in order to be prompted to authenticate.
  3. You DO NOT NEED to "Configure your browser" in order to access licensed databases, except for links in email alerts.

To follow links in email alerts to licensed resources (for example, BNA, journal alerts)

  • Browser Configuration Instructions (whichever browser opens when you click on an email link) to authenticate yourself through the NYU-NET Proxy server.  This step is necessary because email links are not Ezproxy compliant, as are web links.
