
Mirela Roznovschi is Reference Librarian for International and Foreign Law at New York University School of Law Library. She earned her M.A. degree from the University of Bucharest, Romania, and her M.L.S. degree from Pratt University, New York. She holds a Certificate on Internet Technologies from New York University.
In addition to her research and reference duties, Mirela teaches foreign and international law research for JDs, and LLMs. She teaches at Long Island University Palmer School of Library Science during Summer Institutes on foreign, comparative and international law.
Mirela has been a frequent speaker at foreign and international law programs for the American Association of Law Libraries and has served as a member of the Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals Advisory Committee (1997-2000). She has written many articles and lectured on researching international and foreign law abroad. Mirela has taught international, comparative, and foreign law research at the Yerevan State University School of Law (Armenia); at the Constitutional and Legal Policy Institute of the Open Society Institute in Budapest (Hungary); in Moscow (Russia), in Riga (Latvia) at the Riga Graduate School of Law in a program organized by the Constitutional and Legal Policy Institute from Budapest, and at the International Legal Institute/The Open Society Justice Initiative in Budapest. She delivered guest lectures in Brasilia (Brazil) at the Federal Senate Legal Information Services (May 2001) and at the Law School of the University of Bucharest, Romania (May 2005).
Mirela has been the Editor and the Webmaster of the Guide to Foreign and International Legal Databases. She has been the Co-Editor (1999-2003) for International, Foreign, and Comparative Law Section of LLRX.com where she was responsible for a database of articles and guides to international and foreign law research. She is currently the Editor of GlobaLex, an electronic legal publication dedicated to international and foreign law research, published by the Hauser Global Law School Program at NYU School of Law. On December 2000, Mirela Roznovschi was honored, by outgoing President of Romania Emil Constantinescu, for exceptional contributions from abroad in the service of Romanian culture and democracy. Mirela has been named an Officer of the National Order for Faithful Service. Mirela is the recipient of the 2002 "Spirit of the FCIL-SIS" award. Mirela is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries, and the American Society of International Law. She has been elected Secretary/ Treasurer of the Foreign, Comparative, and International Law Special Interest Section of AALL (2001-2003). She has served as Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect of FCIL SIS (2003-2004) and Chair of FCIL SIS (2004-2005).
