Das Deutsche Bundesrecht
Federal laws as well as state laws in full-text. The library has a subscription. A password is required.    

Das Bundesgesetzblatt (Federal Official Gazette) Part I as a  free online version is available as a free read-only pdf version beginning with January 1998 and Part II as a free version after registration (cannot be printed) from Bundesanzeiger publishers. The full read and print version from 1949 to the present is a fee-based service.  There is also the German Federal Official Gazette (Das Bundesgesetzblatt), Parts I and II via makrolog - Recht für Deutschland. The German Federal Law Gazette is here in full text since 1949. Free access to Part I (BGBl) from 1998 after registration. The full version of  Parts I - III is fee-based. Civil Code (English)
The official translation of Books 1 and 2. The German Federal Ministry of Justice has commissioned a translation of the Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch (or BGB), the Civil Code of Germany. The translation can be downloaded free of charge. See another version at the Comparative Law Society at Oxford University (German Law Archive, click on Statutes).

Das Juristische Information system fur die Bundesrepublik Deutschland (The official database of Germany).  Laws, codes, cases, articles. Fee-based database. For password information, contact  the Reference Librarian. 

The Parliament Database: Der Parlamentsspiegel  
Contains a great number of primary legal resources. One resource is the Federal Law Gazette (Bundesgesetzblatt). Contains Federal and State legislation including preparatory documents. To find full text materials, go to "Dokumente" and "Bund." From the drop down menu Institution select "Bundesregierung" and from the Gesetzblatt menu select the publication you are looking for (Ex. Bundesgesetzblatt Teil I). Enter the year in the field for Jahr (year). You will get a list of issues; click on the page number you want, and get the document.

Virtual Law Library at the University of Saarbrücken  
A comprehensive site available in German, English, French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Portuguese. Court reports in German are selective. Links to Courts and German Case Law, Federal Constitutional Court - BVerfG, Federal Administrative Court, Federal Supreme Court (the full texts of the decisions of the Bundesgerichtshof are now online in PDF format starting from 1 January 2000), European Court of Justice. Contains  pagination to the official court document and some head notes in English. Also contains links to German Law Resources in English  and Germany's Federal Constitutional court report abstracts in English.
