Connecting to Licensed Databases From Off-Campus

To connect to licensed databases and full text on the web, you will need to authenticate yourself via the NYU Ezproxy Server.

  • Get your NYU NetID and password
Each member of the NYU community is assigned a NetID.
Your NetID is printed on your NYU ID card.
    Apply for a password online

  • When you attempt to connect to an NYU-only resource, you will be prompted for your NetID and password

  • (Note: Prior to November 2004, when the Law Library started using "Ezproxy" technology, it was necessary to "configure your browser" to authenticate yourself through the NYU Proxy server.  It is no longer necessary to do this, except for links in email alerts, which are not  Ezproxy compliant)

To follow links in email alerts to licensed databases (for example, BNA, journal alerts)

  • Configure your browser (whichever browser opens when you click on an email link) to authenticate yourself through the NYU Proxy server.  This step is necessary because email links are not Ezproxy compliant, as are web links.
