Welcome

The New York University Journal of Legislation and Public Policy is a nonpartisan periodical specializing in the analysis of state or federal legislation. In particular, the Journal provides a forum for the discussion of contemporary legislative issues, focusing on legislative reform and the organizational and procedural factors affecting the efficiency of legislative decision making. It is the goal of the Journal to offer legislators, judges and legal educators the most in-depth analysis of proposed and enacted legislation available.

Submissions
The Journal welcomes unsolicited submissions. Authors should include a cover letter summarizing the piece and a brief professional resume. All submissions should be marked "Attention: Senior Article Editor" and mailed to the office.

Footnotes and citations should follow the rules set forth in the latest edition of A Uniform System of Citation (the Bluebook). All pieces submitted become the property of the Journal. The Journal regrets that manuscripts can be returned only if the author includes a self-addressed, stamped envelope with the submission.

Publication
The Journal is student-edited and publishes three issues per volume, on an academic year basis. Generally each volume consists of two compilation issues and one symposium issue. The compilation issues contain articles, comments, and notes that normally do not discuss the same topic of legislation. The symposium issue consists of papers presented in connection with our annual program and, accordingly, contains works that are related in topic.

The Journal is indexed in ABC POL SCI, America: History and Life, Contents of Current Legal Periodicals, Historical Abstracts, Index to Legal Periodicals, and Legal Resource Index. The Journal is available electronically on WESTLAW. ISSN No. 1094-513X.
