Commitment to Staff Diversity
The Law Review is deeply committed to selecting and fostering
a diverse staff of editors. Our commitment to diversity is reflected
not only in the Law Review selection process but also in
day-to-day life on the journal. This commitment is borne out of
three concerns:
Foremost, a diverse membership leads to a broader exchange of ideas
within the membership and improves the quality and variety of scholarship
of the Law Review. Second, the Law Review has historically
played an instrumental role in the careers of law clerks, legal
academics, and members of the judiciary. Membership has also provided
benefits to students seeking employment in private firms, government,
and public interest organizations. In order to realize our law school's
commitment to diversifying our profession and in light of institutional
barriers and discrimination, the Law Review actively recruits a
diverse membership. Third, the Law Review's membership should
reflect the diverse composition of the broader law school community.
