Annual Survey of American Law

Article Types

Founded in 1942, the New York University Annual Survey of American Law was designed to provide a comprehensive annual catalog of all significant developments in American law. Though providing such an all-inclusive survey has since grown beyond the scope of any one publication, the Annual Survey continues to focus on publishing practical articles that survey significant developments in particular areas of the law.

While the Annual Survey accepts submissions of all types of articles, the editors are particularly interested in practical articles that provide thorough background information on an area or sub-area of the law while discussing in detail significant recent developments and their likely ramifications in court and legal practice.
