Application Fees & Payments
Initial Deposit & Nonrefundable Processing Fee
All applications require a $25 nonrefundable processing fee and an initial deposit ($700 for long-term applicants and $300 for short-term applicants). All applications require a $25 nonrefundable processing fee and an initial deposit ($700 for long-term applicants and $300 for short-term applicants). Applicants may either submit the nonrefundable processing fee and initial deposit online at the time of application via American Express, MasterCard, or Discover and be charged a convenience fee or submit a certified check or money order for the initial deposit and a personal check, certified check, or money order for the nonrefundable processing fee. Both must be paid in U.S. Dollars.
The long-term $700 initial payment and the short-term $300 initial payment are in addition to the $25 processing fee. Your initial payment will be applied towards your summer rent; if we are unable to assign you or if you cancel by the allowable cancellation date, it will be refunded to you. Note that it takes approximately 3 to 4 weeks for the refund to be processed by the NYU Bursar's Office. Refunds are in the form of a check from NYU.
