Renovations & Ongoing Projects
New York University Cogeneration Project
NYU is replacing and expanding its cogeneration plant to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and improve reliability. The Cogeneration Plant is located next to Mercer Residence (Mercer Street between West Fourth and West Third Streets). Mercer Residence & D'Agostino Hall Have Gone Wireless!
We are pleased to announce that Mercer Residence and D'Agostino Hall have gone wireless.
Thermostat Installation
All of the HVAC (Heat and Air Conditioning) units in Mercer Residence and D'Agostino Hall are being upgraded. The upgrade is designed to provide thermostatic control for every unit. The fans in each unit will now automatically shut off once the room temperature has been satisifed.
Mercer Apartment Renovation
The Department of Residence Services is currently in the process of renovating all of the apartments in Mercer Residence. Accordingly, each summer approximately 30 bed spaces are taken off line for renovation and refurbishment (new carpet, kitchen & bathroom cabinets, energy star appliances, etc.).
D'Agostino Hall Commons Renovation
The furniture in the D'Agostino Hall Commons is being refurbished and new square tables and chairs have been purchased to promote group study.
Regularly Scheduled Maintenance
The following projects are scheduled on an annual basis.
Window Cleaning
The windows in each apartment (inside and outside) are cleaned once a year. Residents will be notified.
Carpet & Kitchen Floor Cleaning
The carpets in every apartment are professionally steam cleaned once a year and the kitchen floors are stripped and refinished. Residents will be notified.
