Special Help for International Students
You may want to contact one of the agencies that assist international newcomers in finding apartments and handling some of the financial arrangements. One that some of our students have had success with is Maison International . Our contact person is Gabriel Schwartz; he and others there speak several languages.

In Print
In addition to the Community Profiles offered by the New York Times, a book entitled Newcomers Handbook for New York City, published by First Books, Inc., Chicago, provides excellent descriptions of New York neighborhoods. Another informative guide to neighborhoods in and around New York City is a book entitled If You’re Thinking of Living In . . . , published by Random House.

Additionally, the Office of Residential Life maintains a list of those seeking roommates. If you would like to be on this list, please complete and return the Roommate Finder Form and return to the Office of Residential Life.
