Off-Campus Housing
Not all law students live in New York University School of Law housing; we have students living in neighborhoods throughout New York City and all of its boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island), in surrounding towns, and in New Jersey and Connecticut. Many students engage fully in the academic and social activities at the school but enjoy the separation between their school and personal lives.
The Office of Residential Life offers guidance and advisement to law students looking for housing in the private sector. Our primary goal is to prepare you for the New York area rental market and your search for an apartment. We occasionally have leads to specific apartments but you will more likely rely on area newspaper listings, real estate brokers, apartment-finder agencies, and the University’s Off-Campus Housing Office which maintains a database of listings.
We would also like to help you find a potential roommate. If you would be interested in finding an apartment with one or more roommates, please complete the Roommate Finder Form and return it to the address indicated. By signing this form, you will give the Department of Residence Services authorization to release your contact information to fellow NYU School of Law students who are looking for a roommate.
