Laptop Computer Requirement for 2011-12 Academic Year

Overview
All NYU@NUS students are required to have a laptop for take-home exams and other purposes. This laptop must support wireless connectivity, and must have a PDF reader.  A recommended minimum configuration is listed below. Please know that this requirement may become more restrictive in future academic years–in particular perhaps requiring the use of a Windows-based laptop–when the NYU@NUS program requires the use of laptops for in-class exams.

A printer for personal use, though not required, is recommended for a variety of uses including printing class handouts and take-home exams. Although laser printers are available in the computer labs for printing course-related assignments, reports, research projects, and the like, you should not count on these community printers to print take-home exams which are sometimes severely time-limited. Thus, if you are not comfortable reading take-home exams on a computer screen, you should purchase a printer.

You may want to purchase your laptop under the NUS Notebook Ownership Scheme.
