Merit Scholarships and Fellowships - LL.M.
Hauser Global Scholars Program
The Hauser Global Scholars Program is a scholarship program open to applicants who are admitted to the LL.M. program. Candidates must be graduates of a law school outside of the United States. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are not eligible.
Selections are made on the basis of merit without regard to financial need. The Hauser Global Scholarship provides full tuition for one academic year for the LL.M. program, reasonable living expenses including rent, the cost of textbooks and other study materials.
Hugo Grotius and Arthur T. Vanderbilt Scholarships
The Committee on Graduate Admissions will award a limited number of Hugo Grotius Scholarships and Arthur T. Vanderbilt Scholarships, which range up to full tuition, to outstanding candidates for LL.M. degree studies. Please note that awards are for tuition only. As a result, institutional awards may be reduced in cases where a student receives outside financial assistance to cover the cost of tuition.
Additionally, these merit-based awards are given to a select group of extraordinarily talented LL.M. candidates who have demonstrated academic promise and/or achievement in their respective field(s) of interest. The Grotius Scholarships are specifically designated for students who wish to specialize in International Legal Studies, whereas the Vanderbilt Scholarship is awarded to students in all other graduate LL.M. specializations. Both Grotius and Vanderbilt Scholars will be recognized in many ways; special workshops, lunches and other social occasions as well as personalized attention from the faculty at NYU are all integral to the award.
All admitted students will automatically be considered for the Grotius and Vanderbilt Scholarships on the basis of their admissions application. Interested applicants should submit their complete application for admission by December 1. Those who are selected for a Scholarship will receive notification with their offer of admission by April 1. Those students who are selected to receive Hauser or Global Public Service Scholarships will not be considered for the Grotius or Vanderbilt Scholarships.
