Online Calendar Guide

The following is a guide on how to use New York University School of Law's online calendar. Submissions to the NYU School of Law Online Calendar may be made only by individuals affiliated with the Law School. Only official NYU School of Law Events may be posted. If you have questions about this policy, please contact the Office of Communications.

Go to the Calendar
1. From the homepage, click on "News, Events & Calendars" and then click on "Main Calendar" in the right column.
OR
2. Go directly to http://its.law.nyu.edu/cal/views/week.cfm
3. In the red bar, click on "Submit an Event"
Note, Calendar Managers must click on "Calendar Managers" to add an event.

Submit/Add an Event
Check to make sure the event is not already live.
Use the style guide and our correct nomenclature.
Pay attention to the event title. Make it consistent - this will be useful when users run a Search. For example, a deadline for applications should read: Deadline - RTK Scholarship Applications. Whereas a course or seminar should read: The Greatest Document: The U.S. Constitution Revisited.
Do not exceed list events that begin before 8:00 a.m.
If the event is a deadline, use office hours unless submissions are due at midnight or beyond office hours. In that case, use "All Day Event" and make the deadline of 12 midnight in the description.

Repeat events. To be used for weekly classes, regular meetings, winter break, etc. Add all events at once but when edit or delete an individual event it affects only that specific event. If a repeat event has many small events, please do the following:

List the larger event and include small events and detailed agenda in the description category or link to Web site.
Ex.: Bankruptcy Workshop, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., August 23
Ex.: Bankruptcy Workshop, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., August 24
Ex.: Bankruptcy Workshop, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., August 25
