April 16-17, 2010
Welcome to the 2010 Analytic Legal Philosophy Conference. We are meeting this year in New York, at NYU School of Law, and we have scheduled a fine series of papers by Mitchell Berman, Brian Leiter, Sophia Moreau, Samuel Scheffler (in the non-legal-philosopher slot), and Scott Shapiro. Papers can be accessed from this web-site.
Our procedure is to have minimal introductions by the paper-presenters and then a moderated discussion of each paper for the best part of two hours.
There will be three presentations on Friday, April 16 (beginning at 9:30am; breakfast at 9:00am)—one in the morning and two on the afternoon—plus a wine reception (at 6:00pm) and a dinner (7:00pm); and there will be two papers on Saturday, April 17 (one in the morning and one in the afternoon). Lunch will be served both days. The conference will conclude mid-afternoon on Saturday.
All sessions will be held in the Lester Pollack Room on the 9th floor of Furman Hall, which is just to the east of the main Law School: entrance from Sullivan Street, just south of Washington Square. Please make sure you have identification to show to the security guard when you enter Furman Hall.
Lunches and drinks/dinner will be held at the NYU Torch Club, at 18 Waverley Place (a block and a half east of Washington Square on the north side. (See map for exact locations.)
