Empowerment through advocacy, education, and community.

Mission Statement

The Brewer Latino Institute for Human Rights ("Institute") promotes the legal, political, and civic empowerment of Latinos, and prepares law students to achieve that objective through scholarship and advocacy.

Education. The Institute provides generous scholarship funding to outstanding law students who plan to serve the Latino community via a career in public interest, and supports their legal education via mentorship and targeted skills development.

Advocacy. The Institute serves as a source of opinion and influence in the public sphere on issues relevant to Latinos, such as immigration, voting rights, and advancement of economic opportunity.

Community. The Institute celebrates the contributions of attorneys, judges, scholars, and elected officials, providing a spotlight on accomplishments that may inspire future generations of leaders who will leave a positive impact on the Latino community.
