ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
We stand at the vanguard of legal education in a turbulent, fast-changing world. And we do this in New York City, the epicenter of change and volatility. Here at New York University School of Law, an adventurous intellectual spirit prevails. Our continuing ambition is to train excellent thoughtful citizen-lawyers—practitioners, scholars, politicians, entrepreneurs and members of government—so that they engage life and all its challenges fully and with integrity.
Since 1835, the Law School has charted a new course in American legal education, always setting our sights well beyond the horizon, always believing we could be the best. We have made boldness and experimentation an essential part of our tradition. Our inventiveness is at least partially born of a longstanding need to do more with less, to strive in areas overlooked by our peer schools. We are unquestionably of the top rank, yet we remain unafraid of change, of taking well-considered risks; resting on our laurels is just not an option.
Our continuing mission is to:
- recruit the brightest students, regardless of their ability to pay;
- teach students to think creatively and globally about the law;
- support scholarship that addresses and seeks to resolve complex real-world issues;
- foster a peerless intellectual community centered around a diverse faculty;
- instill a deep commitment to the profession and to public service, civic duty, a sense of decency and a desire to contribute to the social good.
