Dual Degree with Osgoode Hall Law School
NYU School of Law and Osgoode Hall Law School of York University offer a combined program of study, a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from NYU and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Osgoode. Students interested in this dual degree program must apply and be accepted to both law schools. Application may be made simultaneously to both schools or a student may apply to the second school while enrolled as a third semester student at either school. Students may elect to begin their program of study at either school and must complete years one and two at that school and then complete years three and four at the other school.
Students are required to complete the entire first year program of the first school attended and are required to earn a minimum of 26 credits in the second year at NYU and a minimum of 30 credits in the second year at Osgoode. Additionally, all students must complete the basic courses in Constitutional Law, Procedure and Professional Responsibility at NYU, and must complete a substantial research paper at either school. Students will receive 30 transfer credits to be cross-counted for both degrees and must complete the required number of credits, 83 for NYU and 94 for Osgoode, within the four-year time period.
